RichConnect Privacy Policy
Effective 4 October 2026. This policy covers RichConnect for iPhone and the connection service it uses.
Your conversations go to your own Mac. Notifications are optional. RichConnect has no advertising or cross-app tracking.
Who is responsible
RichConnect is published by Alex Booster, an individual developer based in the United Kingdom. Alex is the controller for the personal information handled to operate the connection service and answer support requests. Contact WebDevBooster@gmail.com for support or privacy matters.
Your phone and Mac
The app keeps your paired Mac's address, recent conversations, settings and unsent messages on your iPhone. This includes recordings and attachments you choose to send. Pairing uses a device key stored in the iPhone's secure hardware. The app excludes its conversation and attachment storage from iCloud and computer backups; its device-bound keys are not transferred to another phone.
Text, recordings and selected photos or files are sent to RichOS on your Mac. The Mac stores and processes them. RichOS may send them to the AI provider you configured there to produce replies. That provider's terms and privacy policy apply. RichConnect does not run an AI model or call an AI provider directly. The app explains this data flow before your first message.
Connections and service providers
With RichOS Connect, traffic passes through Cloudflare's network. Connections use HTTPS, but Cloudflare terminates that encryption to route traffic and can process message contents in transit. This is not a promise that only your phone and Mac can read that traffic. The connection service does not retain conversation bodies. Our service's application logging is disabled.
Cloudflare processes connection information such as IP addresses as part of providing and protecting its network. Our connection service retains your Mac's public key, assigned address, connection state and timestamps. These records keep addresses bound to the correct Mac and support authentication and abuse prevention. They are retained for the service's operating life, including disabled identity records so old addresses are not reassigned.
If you connect through your own Tailscale network, that network carries the conversation under your Tailscale setup instead. Our notification service is still used if you enable notifications.
Reply notifications
When enabled, your iPhone obtains a push token from Apple. Your Mac registers that token and a hash of your device key with our connection service so it can deliver replies to the correct phone. These are device identifiers, linked to the pairing and used for app functionality, not tracking.
Pending notifications contain conversation and message reference codes. If previews are enabled, the Mac encrypts the preview using a key shared with your phone. Cloudflare and Apple's push delivery service receive the encrypted preview, not readable preview text. You can switch previews off.
Notification jobs expire after one hour and are removed during queue cleanup. The registration is retained while active. When the service receives a notification cancellation or an invalid-token response from Apple, it clears the token and device-key hash. Turning off notifications or forgetting a pairing may need your Mac and the service to be reachable before remote cleanup completes.
Permissions
- Microphone: record voice messages when you use the recording controls.
- Camera: scan a pairing code or take a photo you choose to send.
- Photos and files: access the items you select for sharing.
- Notifications: alert you when Rich replies, if you allow them.
- Local network: connect to your Mac when your chosen route requires it.
You can manage permissions in iOS Settings. Declining one permission leaves unrelated features available.
Support and this website
If you email us, we receive your address, message and any files you attach. Google provides the email service. We use that information to answer you and handle related issues. We retain it only while needed to resolve the request, follow up on the same issue or meet legal obligations. Do not send passwords, API keys or private pairing links.
Cloudflare hosts these support and privacy pages and processes ordinary web connection details. The pages do not add analytics, advertising scripts or tracking cookies.
Purposes and legal bases
We process connection and notification information to provide the service you request and perform our agreement with you. We rely on legitimate interests to keep the service secure, prevent abuse and respond to support requests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent. Disabling optional notifications does not stop ordinary conversation use.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use app data for advertising, user profiling or training AI models. We do not make automated decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects. Your chosen AI provider's handling of data sent by your Mac is governed separately by that provider.
International processing
Cloudflare, Apple and Google may process information outside the UK, including in the United States and other countries where their services operate. Cloudflare describes its contractual transfer safeguards in its Customer Data Processing Addendum. Apple's and Google's own privacy terms apply to their services. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data.
Delete data or disconnect
- On your iPhone: use Settings → Forget this pairing. You must first resolve unsent items. This clears the app's paired conversation state and kept recordings and removes its pairing identity.
- On your Mac: use Forget this phone in RichOS to revoke the phone and remove its notification registration. Use both devices' controls to complete disconnection.
- Uninstall: removes the app's local files, but does not itself delete your Mac's history or guarantee immediate remote notification cancellation.
- Your Mac's history: manage or delete it in RichOS independently.
- Ask us: email for access, correction or deletion of service records. Because there is no RichConnect account, we may need a non-secret host identifier to locate records and verify the request. We never need your private key or pairing code.
Your rights
Depending on your location and the applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information. You may withdraw consent where it is the basis of processing.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Send requests to WebDevBooster@gmail.com. We respond within the period required by applicable law and may request information needed to verify the request. We do not penalize you for exercising privacy rights.
You can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office or your local data protection authority.
Adults and changes
RichConnect is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to our service, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
We will update this page when the policy changes and show the new effective date. Material changes to the app's data handling will also be communicated through the app or release information.
